Hi my name's Abby and I'm currently studying psychology at the University of Sheffield.

Volunteering at Sheffield Mind has been an extremely rewarding way to gain experience within the mental health field.

So far I have been able to interact with the community through coffee morning chats and the Here4U service, where I  have one-to-one phone calls with members of the community looking for support and a friendly ear. Volunteering at Sheffield Mind is a great way to further your knowledge around available mental health services, all while being surrounded by supportive and knowledgeable members of the Sheffield Mind team.

I would recommend anyone looking to volunteer to come to Sheffield Mind!

Here's Abby lending a hand at our International Women's day event, promoting greater mental health awareness and demonstrating the diversity of the volunteer team that support us. The Here4U service is only made possible by the generosity of local supporters and the dedication of local volunteers. By giving up their precious time, our volunteers allow us to reach even more people in need and allow us to extend and develop services so we can be there for people when they need us.

If you would like to know about Here4U and the other volunteering opportunities we have available, check the website for details or call the office on 0114 258 4489
