Venue Hire

The Wellbeing Centre

We relocated to The Wellbeing Centre on Sharrow Lane in 2017. The facility, a former Surestart, had been empty for some time. We worked hard to turn the building, into warm and welcoming space for service users as to also provide appropriate accommodation for staff and visitors.

The Wellbeing Centre is a multi functional space that can be used for a variety of purposes. We have a counselling suite that is ideal for meetings and one to one consultation and we also have larger rooms that can be adapted to accommodate a multitude of different activities.

We normally offer a room for hire scheme but are unable to do so for the forseeable future due to the restrictions brought in to manage the pandemic

The Future for the Wellbeing Centre - we've only just begun...

We have come a long way since we first got the keys to the building but we're keen to do even more and to develop the rear of the property. We're hoping to design and build an area that can be used for social and therapeutic purpose, possibly incorporating eco-therapy and gardening so we can encourage some bio diversity.

We've been lucky enough to get support from local businesses and volunteers from Sky, Santander, Nationwide  Royal Bank of Scotland  Marks and Spencer and Engie and also worked with the local charity Timebuilders. to  make the area safe and more attractive. We have installed some new raised beds, shrubs, planters and benches which have allowed us to host outdoor events and provided a space for staff to relax, in between sessions.

The help we have received has been truly inspiring BUT there is a lot more to do and its one of the priorities for the coming year to make the space more user friendly.

This is a work in progress and we know it will take time but we hope it will be worth the wait
