Hi my name is Ella and I am studying Psychology at the University of Sheffield.

I initially began volunteering at Sheffield Mind in order to gain some experience of working with people and develop my skills. I volunteer for Keeping Families in Mind for military families - I am involved in group work and it's really rewarding and such a fun thing to do!

I have also just started a new volunteering journey on the Anger Management Team which I am super excited to begin. Within my roles, I have had the chance to meet a range of diverse people and work as part of an integrated and supportive team. I really enjoy the sense of community at Sheffield Mind and the opportunities that have been given to develop both my confidence and transferable skills.

Despite most of my volunteer experience being online, I have still been able to interact with the team and developed quality skills and experience. I would encourage anyone interested to volunteer with Sheffield Mind to just go for it - it's so rewarding and has been one of the highlights of my university experience; the feeling I get from volunteering and the enjoyment it brings has been so valuable to me.
