We are hugely grateful to all the teams that participated in the recent all day cricket tournament but especially, to all the members of the  Sheffield Hallam Women's Cricket Club for organising and hosting the event.

The tournament was a big success and has raised in excess of £500 to support the work we  are doing in the city.

Every penny makes a big difference and we will be using the funds to support the group work we do, providing safe and sociable spaces for people who are isolated and lonely. We run five peer support groups every week. The groups are open and there is no referral process so people can come as and when they need the additional support.

We thought it fitting that a team event should fund a group activity and we look forward to welcoming the women to one of our future gatherings to see how the groups work.

We rely on the kindness and generosity of local people and students in the city are particularly generous and creative when it comes to events and engaging activities.

We are delighted that we were chosen as the beneficiary charity of this event and would like to thank everyone again, for the time and the support - means a lot!
