The, Sheffield Mind Magpies Project will be running a one day event for people working with and in

support of, people who struggle with hoarding

The Magpies service, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been supporting people and raising awareness of hoarding issues since its launch in 2021. The objective of the service is to support people to identify and address the reasons behind their hoarding behaviour and help them to bring about lifestyle changes that will be beneficial to both physical and mental health and wellbeing..

Through one-to-one and group support, people can access practical advice and support to  address their home conditions and also emotional support to deal with the difficulties that often accompany hoarding behaviour, such as social isolation.

This event will allow the team to present key findings, help people understand some of the key factors that contribute to hoarding and work with partner organisations to look at ways of supporting people to manage the issue.

The event will also feature the premiere performance of ‘No Room For Love’, a play commissioned by the project, to provide a unique perspective on the  lives and experiences of service users.
