FAQ’s

What is therapy?

Therapy is different from other relationships. It is not a social chat. You will not hear about your therapist’s life or opinions. Your therapist will not give you advice or try to persuade you to be or do anything.

The session is your space and your experiences are the focus. Your therapist will listen to you and support you to reflect.

Who will my therapist be?

All revive Therapists are fully qualified, and you can trust in the service you will receive. You can find out more about our Therapists by looking at the Bios on the website – if there is someone you would like to work with let us know and we can check their availability.

When can I access therapy?

We don’t currently have a waiting list, meaning we will be able to support you as soon as you are available. At the moment our service operates on Wednesday evenings but get in touch with us if you require an alternative day or time

Where do I go for therapy?

We offer therapy appointments face to face in our offices on Sharrow Lane, or alternatively over telephone or zoom – whichever is more convenient and preferable to you.

How long does therapy last?

Each session is 50 minutes, but the number of session you have is up to you and your therapist. There is no upper limit, but your therapist will regularly review that you are finding the process helpful.

Is therapy the right thing for me?

This is a difficult one to answer, but therapy is for anyone who want a confidential space to talk about anything that is bothering them, with an empathic, non-judgement person. Sometimes the best thing to do is try it and see. If, after a session, you don’t think it is the right pathway for you, there is no commitment to keep going. The service is available to anyone aged 18 or over.

How much does therapy cost?

This service is charged at a standard rate of £45 per session. All proceeds go towards supporting the work of Sheffield Mind; helping to increase capacity and improve our services.
