Proud Owls

Rainbow Owls is the independent and officially recognised LGBTQ+ supporters' group of Sheffield Wednesday FC, which was established in June 2023, due to a need to engage with and support fans who are gay, bisexual, transgender and any other LGBTQ+ identity, as well as the wider LGBTQ+ community across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

The mission of Rainbow Owls is to celebrate, empower and support LGBTQ+ and ally fans of Sheffield Wednesday, so that they feel welcome and can be their true authentic selves in a more inclusive footballing environment, in addition to having a safe space to enjoy the beautiful game and meet other LGBTQ+ fans. Members of Rainbow Owls meet and socialise at Pangolin Craft Beer, based next to Hillsborough Park tram stop, before each home game, but non-matchday social events are also held on a regular basis.
