A group of intrepid swimmers from the Hallam Swim Team have decided to swap the pool for dry land and have embarked on a walking challenge to raise funds for Sheffield Mind.

As we all know, sport and leisure facilities have been hit hard by the restrictions and not being able to train was taking its toll on the team morale until they decided to redirect their energy into a different sort of challenge.

They pulled on their walking boots and took to the streets and parks of Sheffield with a plan to walk the equivalent  distance from Lands End to John O'Groats.

To date the team have accumulated 707.5 miles (only 163.5 to go) and are fast closing in on their target. They have enjoyed getting out about in the city with one member stating,

'We have risen to this challenge and not only has it enabled us have some form of competition it’s helped us get active exploring what Sheffield has to offer in our time away from the pool.'

In recognition of this mighty challenge the team are asking supporters to donate to their fundraising page which you can find here: https://www.sheffieldmind.co.uk/…/hallam-swimmings-race-fro…
