We recorded 56 compliments in 2021. These were received by a variety of services and were mainly from our service users, but also from referrers. Here is a sample:

Mentally Health Universities, delivered at the University of Sheffield:

"I just wanted to send a quick email to say thank you once again for the session! I tend to avoid mental health sessions (and so have never attended one) but this was actually really helpful. I had a very positive first experience, especially since it was a really friendly and an encouraging environment".

"The trainer was very clear and concise and gave very relevant and helpful information that was targeted at my university. It was really helpful. I wasn't aware of much of the support networks that are available to students. I tend to avoid mental health sessions but this was really valuable and helped me discover techniques that I can use to relax."

Counselling:

"The service you provide is such a lifeline for people who struggle silently for so long. What you offer should never be underestimated".

"The time that has been given to me, to talk through my past has made a dramatic difference to my life. I thank everyone at your service for the work you do, it really does make a difference".

"The therapy I received was so amazing and helps me cope with my life and has certainly given me a coping strategy that has been tested over and over again".

"Always feels like progress. It is helping more than anything I’ve done before. Sheffield Mind has been great".

Anger Management:

"I am blown away by how effective and helpful the Anger Management course has been for me. Coming from a skeptical place particularly because it was in a group setting but my goodness I was proven wrong very quickly and everyone was friendly and engaging".

"I have enjoyed the course very much and would highly recommend it , I feel I have picked up and learned so much about the emotion of anger and I hope it stays with me for the rest of my life to be honest, as it will have a huge impact on your life".

"The sessions have been wonderfully rich in knowledge and extremely educational making me realise things I hadn’t noticed before and looking at new ways in which I can cope better and manage my anger more safely and effectively".

"This course has been of huge importance to me. I have found a place of refuge, a safe space to share thoughts and feelings with a group of people I now call my comrades. A group of people with similar issues and struggles".

The Listening Line:

"I was in a very bad place when I started getting the weekly calls. I’m feeling a lot better now!"

"The operators try very hard to help everyone and It’s very much appreciated by me".

"The operator is very kind and I very much appreciate being able to talk to her".

Keeping Families in Mind (supporting military / veteran's families):

"It has been difficult and very emotional and I still feel like I have a lot to unpick and questions to ask but the support, encouragement and understanding I have received from my therapist has been invaluable. She has challenged me too, when needed, and clearly believes in my ability to cope and deal with my difficult situation moving on".

"I will be eternally grateful to Sheffield Mind for helping me when no one else would I have loved being challenged and pushed to see the real me not the image I'd portrayed through fear. I have and will only have good words to say for this service".

"My therapist has been an absolute trooper and I would thoroughly recommend her to work with more families. She has given me the space and support I needed to heal with some difficult times and I see more clearly what signs I need to take to help me move forward with more positivity. Thankyou very much for this opportunity of support - a life saver".

"The sessions made me aware of my limits and to not jump into anything. I found it brilliant. It was the right timing for me especially during lockdown and was the right length of sessions. Was really important to focus on liking myself during lockdown".

Students & Volunteers:

"As one of last year's intake of student counsellors I would like to add my thanks for all the hard work you put in to ensure that we are supported and feel part of the organisation.  You achieve a great balance of empowering and supporting counselling volunteers".

"I found your service hugely beneficial and in all honesty could have referred three times the amount of people I did. I also had nothing but positive feedback from the people who you treated, so much so that they have not required any further interventions from me which I think is a reflection of how appropriate your service was. (Referrer)".
