There has been a lot in the news recently about the affect the pandemic is having on charities. With thousands of events and activities cancelled or postponed due to lockdown, charities face losing substantial sums of money during the indefinite lockdown period.

In response to the situation the organisers of the London Marathon - the worlds single biggest one-day fundraising event have developed the 2.6 Challenge to Save the UK's Charities

The 2.6 Challenge will happen on Sunday 26 April on what would have been the date of the 40th London  Marathon (although to be honest we don’t mind if this inspires you to do something at a later date and we are certainly planning a few events of our own for later in the month!)

If you are interested in getting involved the principle is easy, just think of an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to Sheffield Mind via the following link - be sure to select Sheffield Mind Ltd as your charity of choice www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk

We’d really love it if you could help us by getting involved. There will be a lot of people supporting this campaign and it would be great to see and hear from you about what you have planned or what you are doing on the day so feel free to post images and comments and connect with other people who are taking part.

See below for how to get involved and what you can do to support the initiative - don't worry - you don't have to run - Promise!

I need more time to plan can I get involved later?
