Listening Line added to Sheffield Mind services during Lockdown The Listening Line is a service, created to provide a listening ear for people during this period of social distancing, which is requiring people to mainly remain in their homes. We recognise that people are at increased risk of loneliness and isolation during this time, where opportunities for leaving the home and maintaining normal routines and social connections have been severely restricted. The service allows callers to talk about how they're feeling about lockdown and to share any worries they have. If you'd like to speak to somebody from the Listening Line, please call 0114 312 2209 monday - Friday 10-4pm. Please note that as the service is very small, it's limited in the advice it can provide and should not be seen as a general help or advice line. If people have specific needs based around their health, finance or other such area they should contact the relevant service. The Listening Line is not an emergency or Crisis line. For mental health emergencies, callers should contact the NHS on 999, there is a Sheffield Helpline for anyone in Sheffield affected by mental health issues, staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 0808 801 0440. The Samaritans can be reached on 0114 276 7277 or 116 123 (uk) The Listening Line operates Monday - Friday 10-4pm.
