Services Practical and emotional support Listening Line The Listening Line is a phone service for people living in Sheffield, aged 18 and over. If you became isolated or lonely during the pandemic, or you'd like to talk to somebody about your anxieties about the new variant, the easing of restrictions or taking the vaccine... If you - or a friend or relative - is experiencing mental health symptoms and would like to talk to someone about it... You can call and speak to a friendly operator who'll listen and where appropriate, give advice about local services which you might like to approach for support. The Listening line offers up to 30 minutes on a call, once a week. "Having a weekly chat has made a huge difference to me. If I could buy her a bunch of flowers I would, as she is so caring she has made a real difference to me". (Listening Line caller). We operate Monday to Friday, 10-4pm.
