Keeping Families in Mind

Support for military families in South Yorkshire

KFIM Craft Group

A group of lovely people who come together over Zoom to for 90 minutes every month to get crafty.  We make fun things from materials you are most likely to have around the house. There’s plenty of lively chatter and laughter too along with the obligatory cuppa. A great opportunity for “me time” with like-minded people.

Items to be made in the coming months include novelty felt gingerbread men, a “happy box” and for your valentine a heart shaped pin cushion.

So if you are a family member of someone who has served or who is currently serving in the military as a regular of reservist then you are welcome to join us.

The meeting day is Tuesday at 1.00pm on the following dates:

8th December, 12th January 2021,     9th February and 9th March.

KFIM Walking Group

Plans are afoot for KFIM members to walk off their winter woes. Participants will be under the capable leadership of one of our volunteers, Will Henwood, who is ex infantry and a qualified Mountain Leader.

This is one of the many support services that KFIM has to offer and will complement the counselling, support and signposting information available.

The aim of the group is to meet members of other military families, share stories and spend some time enjoying the superb outdoor spaces that Sheffield has to offer.

So get your walking boots and winter woollies ready because as soon as COVID restrictions allow we will we will be working our way through the list of walks that Will has planned for us. Routes will be suitable for all abilities and we’ll ensure the pace suits all walkers on the day to allow you to enjoy the walk.
