Thank you for visiting my page!

I'm taking on the incredible challenge of attempting to run over 1,000 miles (1,610km) in 2021 to fundraise in support of the fantastic local mental health charity, Sheffield Mind.

Some of you might already know that I had a quite a rough time and struggled with my own mental health following my divorce a couple of years back, and forcing myself to go out running was one of the few things that helped get me through that period.

While the NHS is a true wonder of the world, and is staffed by some of the most brilliant and caring people you will ever meet, it's no secret that our mental health services are supremely underresourced. Given the events of the last year, mental health charities like Mind are now as vital as ever. Now that I am out of the other side of my own problems I thought it was only fitting that I try to do something to give back for those that haven't been as lucky, and what more fitting tribute than challenging myself to run over 1,000 miles to fundraise in aid of Sheffield Mind.

Although there are still 6 months left of the year, I've decided to open this donation page now so that your support can help to motivate me to keep pushing and to make hay while the sun shines!

I'm currently ahead of plan, having run 492 miles as of 9th June, but I'd like to build up a solid bank of miles before summer ends, the weather worsens and I can inevitably get out less often. If you'd like to track my progress in real time you can view my Strava profile at https://www.strava.com/athletes/27673272 to follow my runs (I try to get out 3 times per week). Otherwise I'll try to post regular progress updates as the year goes on and the miles tick up.

Thanks again for visiting this page and for supporting this very worthy cause, it means a lot!
