Challenges take many different shapes and sizes. We all have challenges in our life and some of these can affect our Mental Health and wellbeing. I’ve decided to take on a challenge of my own and run the Virtual London Marathon (26.4 miles or 42.2 kilometres) on Sunday 3rd October. During my training, which has been a mental and physical challenge to say the least, I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to fund raise for a charity that helps people with their Mental Health. I have therefore chosen Sheffield Mind.

Sheffield Mind provide invaluable advice and support to improve wellbeing as well as increasing awareness and helping to remove the stigma often associated with Mental Health. They are a respected and trusted provider of Mental Health Services in Sheffield and help many people in my community.

I will be supporting, encouraging, and running the Virtual London Marathon with a friend who hasn’t done a marathon before. We have trained and planned our route together, trying to find as flat a route as possible, which is impossible in Sheffield! Therefore, we have cheated a bit and planned the route around Rother Valley Country Park along the Trans Pennine Trail to Chesterfield Canal and back finishing at Rother Valley Café for a well-earned coffee and cake I think!

If you are at a loose end on Sunday 3rd Oct, come to Rother Valley or on route and support us. We’ll be starting from the café at 7:30am and finishing about 2.00pm/3.00pm. If you are thinking of coming please let me know so I can keep you posted on the day of our whereabouts.

I hope you will support me in raising funds for this very worthy cause to help Sheffield Mind support as many people as possible with their Mental Health.

Thank you so much and I really appreciate you reading this page.
